Bishop Micaiah J. Young Sr.
Bishop Micaiah James Young Sr. is gifted and passionate about life, ministry, and the advancement of persons overcoming hurt and loss in pursuit of victorious living. He has given himself completely to discovering his God-given purpose. In the process of this journey to self-discovery, he has not withheld the wealth of experience, knowledge, and uncanny wisdom he has gained along the way. Whether it is preaching or teaching in a ministerial capacity, sharing as a motivational speaker, or presenting in a workshop, he has captivated audiences of all ages with his charismatic message and liberating testimony. As an author, his transparent approach to ministry is evident is his book “Made in His Image but His Shadow is all I’ve Seen”, a book that is in demand throughout the world as it addresses the issues of fatherlessness, forgiveness, and personal triumph.
Bishop Young earned his Bachelors of Psychology degree from Morris Brown College and a Masters of Divinity degree from Charles Harrison Mason Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA. He is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University- Milwaukee, WI. Of all his accomplishments, he would say, his greatest accomplishment is that of being a devoted husband to his wife of 13-years, Lady Audia Young, and loving father to his children. Bishop Young decided at an early age that the man he wanted to see in the mirror would be the epitome of “God’s man.” He works tirelessly to be the best at whatever he puts his hands to do. He has met every new phase and chapter of his life, no matter how uncertain, with the same level of courage. Success and failure along the way has only provided fuel to continue.
Bishop Young is the founding pastor of The Life Center Church of God in Christ in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He serves as the Executive Secretary for the Church of God in Christ International AIM Convention. After many years of serving as an evangelist and ministry leader in Nigeria, Bishop Young was consecrated as Bishop for the Nigeria United Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, in Nigeria West Africa by Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard. He has worked for many years within the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, where he was employed as Chaplain for the Racine Correctional Institution in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, providing spiritual care for more than 2,000 incarcerated men. His knowledge of the correctional system and the many issues that incarcerated men face, along with his passion for the advancement and restoration of men, led him to develop “I am A Son,” an organization that focuses on building healthy self-identity in boys and men. I am a Son, also has a reentry program that assists male returning citizens in attaining employment, housing, and recovery support. With more than twenty years of consistent work in ministry, Bishop Young has a proven track record of commitment and dedication. Such loyalty has been the platform that gives his voice credence. Being in touch with his generation gives him relevance; having his finger on the pulse of culture gives him grounding; and having his ear open to the voice of God gives him peace and the boldness to go forward, leading an audience eager for destiny and purpose.
